This is a Courtesy Posting - follow instructions in job description to apply Job Description/Job Title: Clinical Lead – Trauma Simulation Department: Trauma NB Reports To: Provincial Medical Director, Trauma NB Position Control Number: N/A FTE: 0.2 FTE (7.5 hours per week) Classification: Contract Hours of Work: Primarily weekdays; occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Location: Being based within Trauma NB Saint John Regional Hospital offices is preferable, but negotiable. Provincial travel is required. Position Summary Trauma New Brunswick (Trauma NB) is a provincial partnership of Horizon Health Network, Vitalité Health Network, Ambulance NB, and the New Brunswick Department of Health. Trauma NB coordinates trauma care, education, research, and injury prevention across New Brunswick. The Clinical Lead – Trauma Simulation provides provincial educational leadership for Trauma NB’s trauma simulation initiatives. Working closely with the Provincial Medical Director, Trauma NB staff, and provincial simulation faculty, the Clinical Lead ensures delivery of a high‑quality, evidence‑informed, psychologically safe, and clinically relevant trauma simulation program that aligns with provincial trauma system priorities. Key Responsibilities Clinical and Educational Leadership Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the provincial trauma simulation program. Identify, develop, mentor, and evaluate trauma simulation faculty. Promote a culture of psychological safety, professional engagement, and continuous improvement. Curriculum and Simulation Design Coordinate design, development, and implementation of interdisciplinary, in‑situ trauma sims in collaboration with available programs/resources within RHAs and Trauma NB Coordinate development and validation of all trauma simulation curricula and clinical content in programs delivered within each RHA relevant to trauma care. Design, develop, and implement a procedural skills curriculum relevant to emergency procedures for the trauma patient. Ensure alignment with Trauma NB priorities, policies, consensus statements, as well as the best available medical and educational evidence. Program Quality, Evaluation, and Accreditation Collaborate with Trauma NB staff on data collection, analysis, and reporting related to learner needs, outcomes, faculty development, and program performance. Coordinate development of pre‑learning, post‑learning, and simulation session packages Apply proven faculty development and retention strategies. Program Delivery In collaboration with Trauma NB staff and in collaboration with leaders within the RHAs, implement delivery of high‑quality, in‑situ trauma simulation sessions across the province. Adapt simulation activities to rural, regional, and tertiary care contexts. Implement physician skills curricula. Reporting and Accountability Prepare required reports: End‑of‑Year (April): Program performance against annual objectives. Mid‑Year (October): Forward planning report linking priorities with resource needs. Sessional Reports: In conjunction with participating Trauma NB staff and/or simulation faculty, submit post‑session summaries identifying strengths, vulnerabilities, and faculty development opportunities. Stakeholder Engagement Maintain effective communication with Trauma NB partners, including Horizon Health Network, Vitalité Health Network, Ambulance NB, and the NB Department of Health. Contribute to Trauma NB strategic and operational planning. Program Operations Maintain a work schedule defined at least six weeks in advance. Maintain regular communication with Trauma NB leadership. Maintain accurate records of activities and time spent in accordance with contractual requirements. Qualifications And Experience Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick. Clinical experience in Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, or a relevant surgical specialty. Experience developing, delivering, and evaluating clinical education for physicians and other healthcare professionals. Demonstrated experience designing curricula and teaching emergency procedural skills. Demonstrated experience designing and delivering interdisciplinary, in‑situ healthcare simulations. Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Strong communication, facilitation, and leadership skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with data analysis, reporting, and performance evaluation. Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality.
