Full Job Description The Murray Premises Hotel, is looking for an energetic, new Sales Manager to join our team. About Murray Premises Hotel The Murray Premises Hotel, winner of the 2017 Accommodator of Excellence Award from Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador; and, the 2017 St. John’s Board of Trade Excellence Award for Customer Service and Reliability, is the premiere boutique hotel of St. John’s. Located in a National Historic Site on the St. John's waterfront, the hotel has rooms radiating character through exposed 19th century wooden beams, contemporary furnishings and luxurious touches. Murray Premises Hotel combines the comforts and service you expect from a modern boutique hotel, with the history and charm of our legendary city. Applicant Profile A vibrant, motivated person who welcomes the challenge of taking our hotel to the next level while simultaneously maintaining our existing base of clientele.The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, be aggressive in identifying new business and comfortable working as part of a broader marketing team.Independent ideas and innovative thinking are welcome. Duties & Responsibilities Our new Sales Manager will be expected to: investigate and cultivate new corporate business through structured outside and inside sales efforts. build and preserve existing client relations. formulate sales proposals to potential clients, including well thought out and identified terms and conditions. prepare appropriate contracts between the hotel and clients. maintain a constructive working relationship and positive communications with hotel operations. work closely with the General Manager to ensure sales activities are carried out in coordination with the hotel strategic and financial plans work independently to realize established goals, targets, and objectives. provide exceptional communication of information and ideas. work in a fast-paced environment, handling everyday situations quickly and effectively. Requirements / Assets Diploma or Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution preferred. Successful background in tourism and hospitality preferred. Previous sales experience in any field. Superior written and oral presentation skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills, Proven ability to set priorities and work independently OR as a team member. A proven commitment to exceeding client expectations. Computer literacy, with knowledge of various computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite An excellent network of contacts relative to the hospitality industry, would be considered an asset.
