Job Description The office of Ellis Ross, Member of Parliament for Skeena – Bulkley Valley is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Constituency Assistant position. About the role: In this role, you will support the smooth operation of the constituency office by assisting with the Member’s communications, organizing and prioritizing correspondence, and serving as the first point of contact for constituents. Working closely with the Member of Parliament, you will provide a combination of administrative and client service supports, including answering calls, greeting visitors, responding to emails, managing client casework, and assisting with data entry and filing. In this role, you will contribute to a team where your work will help strengthen the office’s service and outreach to help deliver meaningful support to the community. Primary responsibilities: Acts as the first line of response with constituents for all incoming cases (e.g. immigration, Canada Revenue and Old Age Security files) and provides information, advice and support in person, over the telephone and in writing. Drafts responses to constituent emails and letters, including on constituency casework issues. Provides various administrative services to the Member’s office and ensures the flow of operations. Qualifications Education: Post-secondary education from a recognized institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience. Experiences: Customer service experience in an office setting providing, reception or administrative support. Excellent written and oral communication abilities, with great attention to detail. Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs. Assets: Knowledge of the riding of Skeena—Bulkley Valley. Experience working with a Member of Parliament, a political office or a community organization.
