Responsibilities We are seeking a skilled individual for the position of FPI Weld Prep. This role is pivotal in supporting our mission to provide high-performance solutions for aerospace applications. You will contribute significantly to our innovative projects, ensuring quality and efficiency in our manufacturing processes. This position is primarily responsible of insuring proper surface finish as per product criteria and customer requirements. This job post is to fill a current position Vacancy Shift: Monday to Friday- 6:30am to 3pm Starting Wage: $20.00/ hour Typical job duties Follows activity Instructions Removes defects from the surface of parts; using a variety of small hand tools (including but not limited to buzzie’s and grinding pads). Polishes casting’s surfaces as per customer’s requirements. Prepares castings for weld process Removes defects identified in the Liquid Penetrant Process Visual Inspection of parts to help ensure they meet customer requirements. Sets up and maintains small appliances as required to perform specific activities Maintains the necessary stock of materials for the area to maximize productivity Maintains necessary documentation Other duties as assigned Willing to be cross trained in other areas of production code of conduct Respects the values and adheres to the Howmet Code of Conduct Avoids conflict of interest situations and acts in the company’s best interests Takes personal responsibility for the quality of the products Displays a positive, willing to work attitude, as someone who can be counted on to be at work, on time, everyday. environment health and safety (ehs) Learns, understands, and respects the company EHS rules and regulations Wears Personal Protective Equipment Follows all safety rules Reports hazards, unsafe acts, and any accidents as per company procedures. Embraces the Human Performance Safety program and all related activities. Qualifications Meticulous and detail oriented Skilled use of small hand and power tools Ability to work independently and part of a team. Must read, write, and comprehend verbal and written activity instructions. Reads and understands sketches, designs, and plans. Ability to use measuring instruments.
