The Pre-Inspector is responsible for visually inspecting castings for defects and ensuring all shell material is removed. They also utilize specialized equipment like vibrator etch machines and boroscopes to clean and prepare parts for further processing.

RESPONSIBILITIES * When casting is received from the wash-out area, checks if all shell material has been removed. * Identifies the router card the aluminum tag and the melt number. * Visually inspects parts for damage, cold shuts, cracks, inclusions, etc. * Uses vibrator etch machine for castings, test bars coupons. * Uses boroscope and cleaning tools to clean flashing, core material and small shell in all areas * Performs other duties as required. * Respects the values and code of ethics of the company. * Respects the Environment, Health & Safety programs of the company. QUALIFICATIONS * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. * Ability to use measuring instruments. * Ability to handle hoists * Visual dexterity * Manual dexterity * Uses sound judgment
