Responsibilities Review mechanical plans and specifications to identify equipment requirements and opportunities. Select, size, and price HVAC equipment: air handling, heating and cooling plants, ventilation, hydronics, controls, and more. Apply codes and standards (Ontario Building Code, ASHRAE, CSA, etc.) to validate and justify selections. Prepare technical submittals and equipment summaries for consulting engineers. Work directly with mechanical contractors, answering technical questions, supporting their bids, reviewing submittals, and coordinating equipment details to keep their projects on track. Place and manage equipment orders with our manufacturers, confirming that the released equipment matches the approved selections, pricing, and project requirements. Work with factory engineering departments to engineer equipment that meets or exceeds project requirements. Manage project timelines so equipment is ordered, built, shipped, and delivered on schedule, while coordinating with contractors and logistics to hit site delivery dates. Support troubleshooting on equipment selection, delivery, installation, and start-up. Maintain accurate records of selections, proposals, and project documentation. Qualifications/Skills: An engineering degree or diploma. A mechanical background is an asset but not required. A solid grasp of engineering fundamentals: thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer, and an interest in how HVAC systems come together. (Coursework or co-op exposure counts; new graduates are encouraged to apply.) Comfort working with numbers, calculations, and technical software. Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in building relationships with engineers, contractors, and suppliers. Organization and the ability to keep multiple projects moving. A desire to help make buildings more efficient, reliable, and sustainable. Salary: $60k-$70k New graduates and experienced candidates alike are welcome.
