What We’re Looking For We are seeking an experienced and service-oriented Commercial Insurance professional to join our Complex Risk team to help in managing an established core book of first-generation accounts, along with exciting new business opportunities - encompassing multi-national, cross-border and a wide variety of types of business and coverage lines. You will be working directly with the team that originated and continues to grow this book of business, meaning that you are the type of person who wants to work with people who like to work hard and strive for excellence. Requirements 5 – 10 years of expertise (not simply experience) Client facing in support of Vice President Sales or Marketing capacity Maintains ongoing curiosity, knowledge and development in their growing area of expertise Conducts risk identification analysis Recommends account commission / compensation (subject to approval) Participates in overall client relationship Developing towards full leadership of client relationship Assists sales process (new and renewal) Identifies need for new or modified products / coverage Contributes unique market knowledge, relationships, skills to the placement of coverage Identifies gaps in coverage / need for new or modified products / coverage Previous experience in sales, broking/marketing and account management Level 2 General Insurance License Industry certification required (CAIB, CIP, CRM, BCIT Risk Management, etc) and/or legal, finance or engineering-related qualifications A Day in the Life Co-ordinate, plan and develop service and marketing initiatives for our clients Negotiate terms for new business, renewals, and mid-term changes with insurance carriers Gather and organize the information provided by Account Managers, Producers, internet and other sources to facilitate the renewal and new business submissions Prepare insurance summaries, client proposals and related documentation Analyze and Review policy wordings to ensure the proper coverages are in place Daily review of activities and follow up with insurers on outstanding items (endorsements, policy wordings, quotes, etc.) Ensure adequate coverage, and negotiate exclusive amendatory endorsements or additional requirements with underwriters as needed Provide alternate carrier options and mitigate any gaps in coverage for clients Attend industry events, educational seminars, and opportunities to further develop your network Other duties and responsibilities as required Where This Can Take You We invest in our employees!
