Job Responsibilities The Service Writer is the first point of contact for service-related inquiries at the Hyde Park location. Reporting to the Service Manager, this position provides customer service and administrative support to help ensure the Service Department operates efficiently. The successful candidate will coordinate service appointments, maintain accurate work orders and customer records, support departmental billing and payroll processes, and communicate regularly with customers, technicians, and other departments. Key Responsibilities: Respond to phone and in-person inquiries regarding service appointments, equipment pickup and delivery, and repair status. Direct specialized or escalated customer inquiries to the Service Manager. Assist customers with equipment drop-offs and pickups. Follow up with customers regarding repair work. Make outbound calls related to: Special service campaigns End-of-warranty inspections PIP and update requirements Sno to Mow changeovers Tune & Trim services ASI inspections Ensure customer email addresses and contact information are complete and current. Open work orders for scheduled equipment and advise the Service Manager and Back Parts Counter Advisor of known parts requirements. Monitor work orders through completion, customer payment, and closing. Open, coordinate, and bill trucking requests. Maintain organized Service Department records and paperwork. Prepare delivery packages for new equipment. Oversee the receipt of incoming new equipment and transferred equipment, adding notes and documentation as required. Skills And Qualifications A diploma in Business or Marketing or equivalent experience 2-3 years of experience in a sales advisor/service role Experience with and/or knowledge of agriculture and turf equipment Basic knowledge of accounting practices General understanding of mechanical/technical terms Proficiency with standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Excel, email, and internet based systems. Collaborative and team-oriented approach. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver license Ability to work on a Saturday rotation, as well as extended hours during seasonal demands Wage Range $52,000 - $58,000 per year The posted range reflects the skills and qualifications listed above Candidates with more or less experience, education or knowledge may be considered at a point outside the range Why Huron Tractor?
