Pay: CA$80,000.00-CA$100,000.00 per year Job description: We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Hardware Designer to join our engineering team. This role will focus on the design and development of mixed-signal electronics used in industrial battery systems and hybrid power solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with firmware engineers, mechanical designers, and production teams to design reliable and high-performance electronic systems for demanding industrial environments. This role requires strong experience in PCB design, power electronics, and embedded hardware development. Key Responsibilities: Hardware Design: Design mixed-signal electronic systems including power, control, and embedded circuitry for battery and power management systems. PCB Development: Design multilayer PCBs using Altium Designer, including schematic capture, layout, and design rule validation. Power Electronics Integration: Develop and integrate analog, digital, and power electronics subsystems used in portable power and energy storage products. Embedded Hardware Development: Work with STM32-based microcontroller platforms and support firmware teams with hardware integration and debugging. Design Validation: Participate in hardware bring-up, testing, debugging, and validation of new electronic designs. Documentation: Maintain clear documentation including schematics, BOMs, design notes, and revision tracking. Version Control: Work within version-controlled repositories to manage hardware design revisions and maintain engineering records. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineering, firmware development, and production teams to ensure manufacturable and robust designs To succeed in this role you will need: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail in electronic design and documentation Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment A proactive approach to troubleshooting and continuous improvement Strong communication skills to coordinate with internal teams Education & experience: Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline Experience with mixed-signal hardware design (power and control electronics) Experience designing multilayer PCBs Strong background in analog, digital, and power electronics Minimum 3 years experience using Altium Designer Experience working with STM32 microcontroller architecture Experience working within version-controlled repositories Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or cloud-based engineering workflows is considered an asset About Us: Hybrid Power Solutions was founded in 2015 in response to a pressing need for safer, cleaner and more effective portable power systems.
