That is why at IMP, you are not defined by your role.Position Overview: To troubleshoot, repair and overhaul and/or manufacture avionics equipment as well as various other electronic equipment items.What You Will Do: Manufactures and assembles printed circuit boards and electronic components in accordance with applicable technical documentation and drawings Cleans, tests, repairs, troubleshoots and rectifies snags on printed circuit boards and electronic components brought in for repair and overhaul. Cleans, tests, repairs, troubleshoots and rectifies snags on electronic equipment containing Radio-Active Material (RAM). Operates equipment used to carry out tests and repairs to electronic components. Uses appropriate chemicals to clean, bond and/or otherwise process electronic components. Assists other Electronics Technicians in performing trade related tasks. May be required to provide on-job-training to other members of the Electronics Technician Classification. Keeps immediate work area clean and tidy. Assumes other trade-related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Avionics R&O Program Manager. What You Will Bring: Candidate must have, as a minimum, a Certificate or Diploma as an Electronics Technician received from an accredited College/Trade school or equivalent from a Canadian Military Trade school. Candidate must be able to read and interpret blueprints, electronic schematics and Technical Manuals. Candidate must have also received training in soldering techniques of miniature components. Candidate must pass minimum vision test. Previous experience in troubleshooting electro-mechanical components and/or analog circuitry is highly desirable. Previous experience in an Electronics Lab environment is desirable. Previous experience as an avionics technician with on-aircraft experience is an asset. Ability to work in a team environment with engineers and other technicians from varied backgrounds. Ability to initiate work without direction. Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation. Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 6S activities in your area. Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
