Check out the IAMGOLD Blog Read about our Côté Gold About The Role We’re actively searching for a Chief Production Geologist to provide technical leadership across Grade Control, Mine Exploration, and Resource teams while collaborating with Mine Engineering, Drill & Blast, and Operations. Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, this role leads a team of 71 people and drives geological excellence and workforce development. This role directly supports IAMGOLD’s purpose by advancing the safe, responsible, and sustainable development of mineral resources. Through strong technical leadership, resource growth, workforce capability building, and adherence to leading health and safety standards, the Chief Geologist helps maximize long-term value and operational success. Responsibilities: Manage daily field mapping and wall face sampling to accurately track the location, shape, and quality of the ore body. Build a collaborative team environment, training junior geologists in grade control, core logging, and field safety protocols. Direct the team in marking out ore and waste boundaries in the pit to prevent lower-grade rock from diluting the mill feed. Oversee and evaluate grade control model updates, polygon design and blast movement parameters to maximize ore feed to the mill Manage all material tracking and stockpile inventory and royalty reporting for all stakeholders Combine new drilling data with pit observations to keep the mine's 3D geological models accurate for short- and long-term planning. Collaborate with geotechnical engineers to monitor structural hazards, like faults or cracks, ensuring safe working conditions in the pit. Design, execute and manage RC and DDH drilling programs around the active pit to find new resource pockets and extend the overall lifespan of the mine. Job QualificationsAug 20, 2026, 12:16:47 PM Key Skills & Knowledge Bachelor of Science in Geology or relevant Geoscience is required. Registered (or ability to obtain registration) within an appropriate professional organization. Relevant Experience Minimum 10 years experience in Mining Operations, Exploration and Resource modeling. At least 5 years supervision experience.
