Check out the IAMGOLD Blog Read about our Côté Gold About The Role The Mine Equipment Operator is based in Gogama ON reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor. The role is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of production, supporting and haulage mining equipment classification. In this role, operators will play a key part in supporting the execution of the integrated mine plan. Mine Equipment Operators play a critical role in in operating and maintaining essential production and pit service equipment helps maximize productivity, maintain site infrastructure, and ensure operational readiness while upholding the highest standards of safety and teamwork. We are specifically searching for Operators that are fully qualified on the following equipment / services: Production Face Shovel (6060) Production Loaders (994K, 995) Non-Production Excavators (6015, 395, 352/349) Smaller Wheel Loaders (990, 988, 980) Dozers (D10) Rubber Tire Dozer (RTD) Graders (18M) Rubber Tire Backhoe Haulage Trucks (740, 777) Water Trucks (777) Sleipner Responsibilities Safely operate and maintain assigned equipment in accordance with company health, safety, and operating standards. Conduct inspections, safety checks, cleaning, and basic preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability. Position, load, and operate equipment safely while maintaining clean and hazard-free work areas. Identify, troubleshoot, and report equipment faults, operational risks, and inefficiencies. Utilize and support MineStar high-precision GPS technology to optimize haulage and drilling performance. Collaborate with team members to resolve issues, coordinate activities, and achieve shift production targets. Maintain accurate equipment and shift logs, communicating deficiencies and follow-up requirements promptly. Contribute to continuous improvement by developing skills, mentoring team members, and supporting operational and sustainability goals. Job Qualifications Key Skills & Knowledge: Grade 12 or equivalent. Relevant Experience 6 months of heavy equipment operation. Equipment maintenance experience is considered an asset.
