ORGANIC FARM WORKER – LIVESTOCK (BEEF CATTLE) Osprey Organics – Paige Farm 427447 8th Concession A, Flesherton, ON, N0C 1E0 Osprey Organics is currently hiring two (2) Organic Farm Workers – Livestock (Beef Cattle) (NOC 85100 – Livestock labourers) to support daily operations on our organic farm. These are full-time, permanent positions that are ideal for individuals who enjoy working with livestock and are comfortable with physically demanding work, including the daily care and management of beef cattle, feeding, animal health monitoring, livestock handling, and maintaining clean and safe livestock facilities. Previous livestock or beef cattle experience is required. Position Details: Wage: $17.60 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time Schedule: Early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Start Date: As soon as possible Vacancies: 2 Work Location: On site (no remote work option) Key Responsibilities: Feed and provide fresh water to beef cattle according to established schedules. Monitor cattle daily for health, injury, stress, behaviour, condition, feed intake, and overall well-being. Assist with identifying and treating common health issues, vaccinations, medications, health checks, and basic animal care under supervision. Assist with breeding programs and monitor cattle during breeding, calving, and other livestock activities; maintain accurate records. Safely and humanely handle, sort, load, unload, and move cattle. Clean and maintain barns, pens, stables, barnyards, feeding areas, livestock equipment, bedding, and sanitation areas, including manure removal. Operate and maintain basic farm tools and equipment. Assist with fencing, gates, water systems, feeding equipment, and general farm maintenance. Prepare livestock areas for changing weather and seasonal conditions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow organic farming practices, animal-welfare standards, workplace safety procedures, and environmental guidelines. Perform other general farm duties as assigned. Qualifications: No degree, certificate, or diploma required. 2–3 years of relevant livestock, agricultural, or beef cattle experience. Experience with livestock feeding, animal health, breeding, and barn/facility maintenance is an asset. Knowledge of safe and humane livestock handling and animal-care procedures. Able to follow instructions and established procedures. Flexible to work hours based on livestock and farm needs, including outdoors in all weather conditions. Work Environment & Conditions: This role is based on a rural organic farm and involves exposure to a variety of environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, moisture, odours, and confined spaces. Work is physically demanding and includes repetitive tasks, heavy lifting, bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods in all weather conditions.
