Residence Child and Youth Worker, Sooke BC- Full-Time & Part-Time

All-inclusive care is everything from cooking, cleaning, driving to and from appointments, administering medications, offering emotional and behavioral support, going on fun outings, and more! We are currently looking for Full-Time and Part-Time Residence Child and Youth Workers to join our amazing team in Sooke! Preference for Applicants who are able to work weekends. Candidates must be local to Vancouver Island to be considered. Free parking. Casual dress. Compensation, hours, and location: The Residence Child and Youth Worker is Grid 11, Compensation starts at 29.22 and requires union membership. Shifts are either 7:30am-3:30pm or 3:30pm-11:30pm, and positions are set by the agency at a location in Sooke. Who We’re Looking For: Candidates who are looking to contribute to the growth and development of others, have a passion for helping others, and have experience working with at-risk children and youth. Candidates who are looking to grow their career in the social services field. Candidates who are positive, empathetic, and hard working. Additional qualities we look for are: Ability to work as a team and contribute to the plans of care. Excellent communicator who is understanding, patient, and non-judgmental while providing exceptional care to our youth. Computer literacy - ability to use multiple technology platforms. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Preference Given to those who have: Experience working with at-risk youth and/or people who have a mental health diagnosis. Understanding of Trauma Informed Care, and experience providing trauma informed counselling (through behavior management, attachment based, relational, or other appropriate modalities). Experience administering and documenting daily medications. Experience working with suicide prevention and self-harm behaviour. Education in a related field (education, psychology, child and youth care, counselling, health care). Qualification Requirements: Diploma in a related human/social service field and Two years recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be 19 years or older. A minimum of a Class 7N BC Driver's License. Must obtain and maintain screening through the MCFD and the Ministry of Justice. Prior to confirmation of employment all applicants must complete screening through the Ministry of Justice and a Ministry Check. This requires applicants to provide police clearances from any country lived in outside of Canada for 6 or more month since turning 18. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to obtain, please ensure you prepare accordingly. The Residence Child and Youth Worker provides all-inclusive residential care, including emotional and behavioral support, daily living assistance, and activity planning for at-risk youth. They are responsible for administering medications, documenting care, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment for residents.

Candidates must possess a diploma in a related human or social service field and at least two years of recent related experience. A valid Class 7N BC Driver's License and successful completion of Ministry of Justice and MCFD screening are mandatory.
