Data Designer

Role: Data Designer / Data Steward Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Contract Duration: 6-12 month contract with high possibility of extension Overview We are seeking experienced Data Designers / Data Stewards to support enterprise data governance, metadata management, privacy compliance, and data migration initiatives within a BFSI environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data governance frameworks, stakeholder management, Agile delivery, and data quality processes while working across business and technology teams. Key Responsibilities Implement and support enterprise Data Governance Frameworks (DAF). Manage and maintain metadata, data lineage, and data quality standards. Ensure compliance with privacy, regulatory, and governance requirements. Support workspace readiness and migration activities. Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to align data initiatives. Manage and prioritize backlogs using JIRA and Agile methodologies. Facilitate governance discussions, workshops, and stakeholder meetings. Identify, track, and resolve data-related issues and risks. Provide escalation management and drive issue resolution across teams. Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and governance processes. Required Qualifications Strong experience in Data Governance Frameworks (DAF). Hands-on expertise in Metadata Management. Strong understanding of Privacy and Compliance Processes. Experience working within Agile Delivery Methodologies. Proficiency with JIRA and backlog management. Experience supporting workspace and migration readiness processes. Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders across business and technology teams. Strong risk management, issue resolution, and escalation management skills. Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and leadership abilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience within Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (BFSI). Knowledge of enterprise data management best practices. Experience working in large-scale transformation or migration projects.

Implement and support enterprise data governance frameworks while managing metadata, data lineage, and quality standards. Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to drive data migration and ensure regulatory privacy compliance.

Requires strong expertise in Data Governance Frameworks, metadata management, and Agile methodologies using JIRA. Candidates must have proven experience in stakeholder management and risk resolution, preferably within the BFSI sector.
