We are seeking a talented Corporate Associate with 1–3 years of post-call experience and a focus on debt financing to join an established Toronto team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior-to-mid-level lawyer to take on meaningful responsibility across sophisticated financing transactions, work directly with leading clients and partners, and build a strong long-term practice in a collaborative, technology-forward environment. About Our Client Our client is a highly regarded International law firm with a sophisticated corporate and transactional practice and a strong presence in the Toronto market. The firm advises a broad range of leading financial institutions, private credit funds, borrowers, developers and private equity sponsors on complex and strategic transactions. About The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a junior associate to join a growing debt finance practice supporting a leading partner and broader corporate group. The role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of financing matters rather than being limited to a narrow portion of transactions. Associates can expect meaningful exposure to clients, drafting and negotiation, and the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of sophisticated financing structures. About The Position Reporting to and working closely with a senior partner within the corporate and debt finance group, the successful candidate will support a variety of financing transactions involving financial institutions, private credit funds, borrowers, developers and private equity sponsors. The ideal candidate will have some direct debt finance experience. However, candidates with a strong corporate practice foundation may also be considered where they demonstrate a clear interest in developing a debt finance practice. Associates will have the opportunity to draft and negotiate transaction documentation, work directly with clients and other deal participants, and collaborate with lawyers across the broader corporate and real estate practices. The Requirements Canadian law degree (JD or LLB) Called to the Ontario Bar and licensed to practice in Ontario Approximately 1–3 years of experience Experience with a variety of financing structures is an asset Prior real estate security experience is an asset Experience drafting and negotiating security agreements, guarantees, debentures and other loan and security documentation Technology-forward approach to legal practice, including hands-on daily proficiency with legal AI tools Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong professionalism and ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and manage competing responsibilities Compensation & Benefits Very competitive compensation Comprehensive benefits package Strong mentorship, professional development and career growth opportunities Hybrid work arrangement At Aplin — together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems — we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
