Shift: Mondays - Thursdays 3:00PM - 1:30AM General Description Reads and interprets plans created by the Master Electrician to install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. This position is responsible to complete assigned day to day work of the electrical department; This position is responsible to ensure that all electrical work is within code, bylaw and other legislative requirements and is accountable for such. This position has line of sight to becoming a Master Electrician. Skill/Effort Requirements Computer skills and the ability to use a variety of office equipment Mechanically/technically inclined Problem solving and organizational skills Canadian Electrical code Conscientious, with a keen attention to detail Ability to work under pressure of absolute deadlines Responsibilities Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit Pulls wiring through conduit Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer,and oscilloscope Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement Repairs faulty equipment or systems Other duties as assigned Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Exigences
