Job Description This position is responsible to patrol an assigned area to ensure public compliance with existing parking ordinance while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Responsibilities Patrol properties to maintain safety Maintain close communication with dispatch using two-way radio or cell phone Relay information about incidents or emergencies to appropriate personnel Write warnings and citations for illegally parked vehicles Identify vehicles in violation of parking codes Observe and report hazardous conditions such as missing traffic signs or street markings Observe and report suspicious objects or vehicles Monitor environmental conditions to detect possible hazards (ice, etc.) Use hand-held device to enter and retrieve vehicle information Investigate and answer complaints regarding contested parking citations Prepare and maintain operational records ie: activity logs and contested citations Collect coins from parking meters Maintain assigned equipment Perform simple vehicle maintenance, such as checking oil and report mechanical problems to the Manager Other duties as assigned 40 Hours/week; Shift timings varies; Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years customer service experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated problem solving skills Able to maintain a professional demeanor in all situations Able to work well in a team oriented environment Able to work independently with minimal supervision Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and good observational skills Takes pride in maintaining a high standard of quality service Accurate data entry skills Valid provincial drivers license Clean drivers abstract Basic computer skills Able to pass a criminal record check Assets Enthusiasm for on-going learning, coaching, and training Results-oriented individual, focused on accuracy and customer relations
