We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Supervisor for Steel Vehicles to lead daily manufacturing operations across fabrication, welding, armoring, integration, and vehicle assembly. This role is responsible for supervising production employees, coordinating workflow, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and driving continuous improvement to meet production targets. With strong experience in metal fabrication, MIG welding, and vehicle assembly, you will provide shop floor leadership and technical guidance to support the successful delivery of armored and specialty vehicle programs. What You’ll Do Lead daily production activities across fabrication, welding, armoring, integration, and vehicle assembly to ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery. Plan and coordinate workflow, labor allocation, and production priorities while collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams. Oversee fabrication, MIG welding, and vehicle assembly operations, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, welding procedures, and build standards. Monitor productivity, quality, and schedule performance, resolving production issues, bottlenecks, and non-conformances through effective problem-solving and root cause analysis. Promote and enforce health and safety standards, conduct workplace inspections, and support incident investigations and corrective actions. Lead, coach, and develop production employees, managing performance, attendance, training, and team engagement. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, throughput, quality, cost reduction, and workplace safety. Required Qualifications 5+ years of manufacturing experience in fabrication, welding, vehicle assembly, or industrial production. 3+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience. Certified MIG Welder (CWB certification preferred). Strong understanding of fabrication and metalworking processes. Experience reading engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly instructions. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications Experience in armored vehicle manufacturing and specialty vehicle upfitting. Experience supervising fabrication and welding personnel. Welding Inspector certification (CWB Level 1 or equivalent). Forklift certification. Overhead crane certification. Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement training. Mechanical or manufacturing trade certification. Competencies Fabrication, MIG welding, and vehicle assembly expertise Blueprint reading, quality control, and manufacturing process management Production planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and decision-making skills Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and quality standards Leadership, coaching, and team development Physical Requirements Ability to work within a manufacturing environment. Ability to stand and walk on the production floor for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs) occasionally. Ability to wear required PPE and work safely around manufacturing equipment. Working Conditions This position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with regular exposure to welding operations, fabrication equipment, overhead cranes, forklifts, and vehicle assembly activities. The role requires working safely around manufacturing processes that may involve noise, dust, and other shop-floor conditions. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required to support production demands and customer delivery schedules.
