THE OPPORTUNITY The Truck & Transport Technician will be responsible for repairing and maintaining commercial trucks according to dealership and factory specifications. Technicians should be proficient across a variety of power modes to meet market demands for diesel engine, electric LNG, hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Ensure customers’ trucks are quickly and efficiently repaired in accordance with dealership and factory quality standards and customer expectations. * Perform repair and maintenance to engines, brakes, hydraulic and electrical systems. * Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex repair issues and perform related repairs. * Inspect and examine vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended. * Write repair narratives and document all work performed and recommended. * Road tests vehicles when required. * Coordinate with other departments including parts and service * Participates in company sponsored training programs, schools, and events, and stays current with emerging technologies. * Demonstrates commitment to safe work practices, participates in toolbox talks and follows and contributes to Inland’s safety standards. WHAT WE LOOK FOR * Qualification as a Licensed Truck & Transport Technician essential * Five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, Red-Seal Journey certification * Prior experience in a dealership environment preferred * Computer skills with the ability to use 3rd party industry software programs required * Valid Driver’s License required, Class 3 with Airbrake Endorsement or Class 1 (to test drive truck & trailer) preferred * Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVIP) Certification * Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing * Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, must be able to walk around shop floor and exterior yard area (long periods standing / walking), requires mobility to easily access and egress trucks and equipment. PAY RANGE The pay for this position is $49.00- $50.15 per hour for a Journeyman Red Seal Technician depending on experience. * Added premiums available.
