Risk and Information Governance Advisor - Quebec (12-Month Maternity Leave Replacement)

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Corporate Affairs, you will play a key role in engaging and aligning various committees and teams to ensure a consistent approach to the application of risk management frameworks. You will serve as a strategic point of contact, facilitating collaboration, removing operational roadblocks, and supporting the effective execution of projects. Take this opportunity to join InnovMetric, a people-focused, innovative, and ambitious company, and maximize your impact by taking on the following responsibilities: Responsibilities • Act as a key resource for management, regulators, clients, and board members on matters related to governance, risk management, compliance, and privacy protection• Define and implement governance practices for data, privacy, artificial intelligence (AI), and corporate policies• Lead various governance and risk management committees to ensure the successful progress of strategic initiatives• Oversee projects related to privacy protection, compliance certifications and frameworks (e.g., ISO, DFARS, SOC 2), risk management, and artificial intelligence• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and tools that support governance and compliance activities• Ensure rigorous follow-up on action plans and support teams in implementing best practices• Coordinate external audits and guide teams through the execution of corrective actions• Foster a risk management culture that is consistent and aligned with the organization’s business objectives. Qualifications Hold a bachelor’s degree in Law or another field related to governance or risk management Have a minimum of 4 to 7 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within an international environment Have experience in privacy protection, particularly in relation to Quebec’s Law 25 and the GDPR, as well as a strong understanding of issues related to data governance, AI, information security, DFARS, and contractual compliance Demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach Excel at communication and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, accessible language Be proficient with information technologies Be fluent in English, both written and spoken* (required) Have a good knowledge of ISO standards (particularly ISO 27001) and internal controls auditing frameworks (particularly SOC 2) (an asset) InnovMetric offers excellent working conditions: Flexible work schedule, allowing for a good balance between personal and professional life Possibility of teleworking Competitive salary and bonus system Group insurance and telemedicine service Free tea, coffee, and parking Sports and social activities as well as IMBand music group (check it out on Youtube!) The advisor will define and implement governance practices for data, privacy, and AI while leading committees to ensure strategic alignment. They will also oversee compliance certifications, manage policy development, and coordinate external audits to foster a consistent risk management culture.

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Law or a related field and possess 4 to 7 years of experience in governance or risk management. Proficiency in privacy regulations like Law 25 and GDPR, along with strong communication and analytical skills, is required.
