About the Company: Longshore Resources Ltd. is a dynamic private oil and gas exploration company, focused on capturing high quality, oil weighted resource opportunities in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Position Description: Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Senior Corporate & Treasury Accountant will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the Company. This position is responsible for treasury management, oversight of the accounts payable function, month-end accounting, and supporting corporate financial reporting. Working in a lean, collaborative environment, the successful candidate will be comfortable balancing routine transactional responsibilities with more complex technical accounting assignments while exercising sound judgment and operating with minimal supervision. The position is contract with an expected term of 16 months and is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys working in a small, collaborative organization where every team member makes a meaningful contribution. The successful candidate will have broad exposure across treasury, corporate accounting and financial reporting while working closely with senior leadership and participating in a wide variety of operational and strategic initiatives. Primary Responsibilities: Treasury: Oversee daily cash management, including cash positioning, bank account reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting leveraging daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow projections, including short-term loan to ensure optimal liquidity, minimize financial risks, and effectively manage cash. Perform daily banking activities within the Company's financial reporting system, including entering bank transactions and clearing payments. Accounts Payable Team Lead: Administer and maintain the OpenInvoice accounts payable system (in conjunction with VP Finance), including system/user maintenance and ensuring timely integration into the Company’s financial accounting system for payment and month-end requirements. Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight to the Accounts Payable Administrator. Maintain vendor relationships and property represent the company and accounting department to internal stakeholders and vendors. Prepare and process weekly and ad hoc payment runs, wire and online bill payments. Enter manual cheque requests into Qbyte and ensure timely payment. Backup for accounts payable function when needed. Corporate/General Accounting: Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations and working papers. Complete month-end and year-end accounting activities. Code and distribute annual invoices including: property tax, admin and orphan levy. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and support the annual audit process. Provide analytical support to the VP Finance on special projects. Prepare supporting schedules for Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A). Prepare and maintain ARO and depletion calculations. Complete joint venture accounting and reconciliations. Requirements Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience within the upstream oil and gas with significant exposure to treasury and accounts payable. Experience and expertise with business and financial software including Microsoft Office (Excel), Qbyte, OpenInvoice, and other typical oil & gas accounting systems. Relevant undergraduate degree is required (Accounting, Finance, Business) and professional designation (CPA) would be considered an asset. Candidate must have the skill set and aptitude to flourish in a fast-paced, dynamic, small company environment where individuals will be given the opportunity to help design and implement policies and procedures and will be asked to take ownership of, and to be accountable for, the results of their contributions. The successful candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. They are capable of working independently with minimal supervision, consistently meeting deadlines, exercising sound judgment, and maintaining exceptional attention to detail while balancing routine operational responsibilities with more complex technical accounting assignments. Experience with online banking platforms Understanding of oil & gas royalty, joint venture and production accounting interfaces Experience in a private E&P environment preferred
