Operations Intern, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Ready to take what you’re learning in school and put it to work? At Interfor, we’re looking for future leaders who are curious, hands-on, and eager to learn. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, build practical skills, and gain a better understanding of how people, equipment, technology, and processes come together in a modern manufacturing environment. If you enjoy solving problems, learning how things work, and looking for better ways to get the job done, this could be the summer opportunity for you! This is an on-site internship with an anticipated start date in May. Ideally, you’ll be available for a 4- to 8-month term. We offer competitive compensation for interns, including: Salaries starting from $3,700 per month (based on your year in school and previous experience). Temporary living allowance for interns moving to the area for the role. What You’ll Do Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and learn how a modern sawmill operates. Explore production processes and discover how teams work together to safely produce quality wood products. Contribute to projects focused on process improvement, operational efficiency, and production performance. Analyze data and observations to identify opportunities for improvement across mill operations. Work alongside experienced operations professionals while building leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills. What You Offer You are working toward a degree or diploma in Wood Products Processing, Business, Operations Management, Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical), Supply Chain, or another industry-related program. You are committed to maintaining a safe work environment without compromise. You are curious, hands-on, and interested in learning how a manufacturing operation works. You communicate clearly and enjoy working with employees across different teams and departments. You are comfortable reviewing information, asking questions, and helping solve problems.
