Quality Control Intern, Elk Lake, Ontario Ready to take what you’re learning in school and put it to work? At Interfor, we’re looking for future leaders who are curious, hands-on, and eager to learn. You’ll work side-by-side with experienced professionals, build practical skills, and gain exposure to the technologies shaping the wood products industry. If you’re excited to wear work boots, solve real problems, and make an impact in a tight-knit community, this could be the summer opportunity for you! This is an on-site internship with an anticipated start date in May 2027. Ideally, you’ll be available for a 4-8month term. We offer competitive compensation for interns, including: Salaries starting from $3,700 per month (based on your year in school and previous experience). Temporary living allowance for interns moving to the area for the role. What You’ll Do Learn how quality control supports the production of high-quality wood products. Collect, analyze, and interpret quality and operational data from different areas of the mill. Participate in inspections, surveys, and process reviews to help identify improvement opportunities. Assist with quality improvement projects, reporting, and performance tracking. Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to support product quality and continuous improvement initiatives. Gain hands-on experience solving real manufacturing challenges while building your analytical and problem-solving skills. What You Offer You are working towards a degree or diploma in an industry-related program (forestry, supply chain, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering). You are committed to maintaining a safe work environment. You communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating with your team and other departments. You are interested in hands-on work in an industrial setting. You are comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
