Interior Health typically establishes salaries within the minimum and midpoint of the salary range based on qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees. About The Job In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Lead, Virtual Care is responsible for identifying, planning, implementing, and supporting applications and electronic processes related to virtual care as they align with Interior Health’s (IH) goals and strategies. The Lead will provide guidance and direction to members of the Digital Health Virtual Care team to support the execution of virtual care requests and the ongoing maintenance of systems supported by the team. The Lead will serve as subject matter expert and, through customer and partner engagement, identify joint initiatives for review and prioritization by the Manager, Virtual Care. Typical Duties And Responsibilities Consults with the Manager, Virtual Care and key partners and sets team and individual staff goals and objectives, as they relate to Virtual Care based Digital Health services, which support the mission and goals for IH. Ensures information systems, virtual care tools and data services align with organization and program area goals and objectives. Provides direction, guidance, consultation, and education to Digital Health Virtual Care staff using effective leadership and communication skills. Represents Digital Health and provides technical and procedural recommendations to internal and external partners, including partner digital health teams and Clinical Operations Leads. Leads and participates in committee and team meetings with multiple partner groups to assess virtual care requirements. This includes establishing priorities and collaborating with Operational leads to establish work plans and drive timelines for solutions. Leads and coordinates a collaborative team-based approach that incorporates resources from the Interior Health Digital Health department, programs, and vendor partners to affect changes related to system wide practices, workflow change initiatives, practice innovation and redesign, and documentation/nomenclature standards and electronic record usage. Leads in the development of organization and/or departmental clinical change management policies and procedures as they relate to Virtual Care and clinical practice process redesign as it pertains to professional practice; manages, coordinates, and facilitates communication of system change/enhancements. Supports the activities of Virtual Care initiatives, including transition of support from new project implementations, ongoing engagement with partners, software and hardware optimization, software updates, development of application and tool-specific training materials, and support of the associated application software and hardware. Builds partnerships with internal partners and manages relationships with vendors, as necessary. Works closely with relevant teams internally to ensure alignment and coordination across operations as part of the seamless implementation of new technologies. Reviews, evaluates, and monitors requests for Virtual Care projects and initiatives; makes recommendations to the Manager, Virtual Care. Develops and manages the operating and capital budgets for the support and implementation of Digital Health Investment Plan (DHIP) projects. Will be responsible for direct operational and project reports as required. In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, maintain a healthy and safe work environment through complying with and implementing applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, responding to requests from WSBC, identifying hazards and communicating risks, ensuring compliance with employee training, conducting effective incident investigations and implementing required corrective actions. Performs other related duties as assigned. BC’s health system is in the process of transformation. As part of the planned changes, certain IM/IT, Finance, and Supply Chain roles are expected to be in scope for transition to a new provincial shared services organization, BC Shared Health Services. Candidates applying to positions in these areas should be aware that, while the role is currently employed by the Health Authority, it may transition to BC Shared Health Services as part of the first or subsequent implementation phases.
