The assigned clinical area for this position is the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, which includes admitting and recovering patients, scrubbing, circulating, and recording diagnostic and interventional procedures performed, ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care. Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis. Shifts of work will be days, rotating from 07:00 to 17:00, 08:00 to 18:00 hours. About this location Kelowna is home to the new Interior Heart and Surgical Centre (IHSC) at Kelowna General Hospital built in 2015. The new Regional Cardiac Revascularization Program provides residents of the British Columbia Interior with the cardiac care they need, right here in the heart of the Okanagan Valley. Our team of medical staff in the Cardiac Program includes 5 Cardiac Surgeons, 4 Cardiac Surgical Assistants, 4 Interventional Cardiologists, 3 Electrophysiologists, 11 General Cardiologists, 6 NPs and more than 200 medical and clinical staff, including cardiac anaesthetists, perfusionists, clinical nursing staff, anaesthesia assistants and support staff. KGH offers a 20 bed Cardiac Telemetry Unit, an 8 bed Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CCU), an 8 bed Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CSICU), an 18 bed Cardiac Surgery Inpatient (CSIP) ward, 2 Cardiac Cath Labs and 1 Electrophysiology Lab.
