Résumé du poste
Senior Regulatory Consultant - Emissions Intricate Group Inc. | Calgary, AB (Hybrid) | Full-time Intricate is a Calgary-based regulatory solutions firm for upstream and midstream oil and gas producers across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and BC. We run an integrated model: field measurement and emissions services, regulatory and technical consulting, and our own compliance software. Most firms hand operators one piece of the puzzle. We connect the field data to the analysis to the software, which closes the gaps where compliance problems hide. Our consultants work at the center of that model. This is a senior role. We're looking for someone who already knows the emissions regulatory landscape deeply and can own client programs from day one: scoping the work, running the analysis, managing the relationship, and standing behind the answer. You'll operate independently, carry your own portfolio of clients, and help set the direction of our emissions practice as it grows. WHAT THE ROLE IS ABOUT - Program ownership: running multi-year emissions compliance programs end to end, from scoping and planning through delivery and regulator interaction - Client leadership: acting as the senior point of contact for your accounts, advising client leadership directly, and growing the relationship over time - Multi-jurisdiction advisory: most of our clients operate across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and BC, and you'll help them navigate the differences in emissions requirements between provinces and keep their programs consistent across all three - Problem solving at the strategic level: helping clients decide where to spend, where the real risk sits, and how regulatory change affects their operations and economics - Delivery: building defensible compliance submissions, quantifications, and analyses that hold up to regulator and auditor scrutiny - Practice building: mentoring intermediate consultants, improving how we deliver the work, and contributing to proposals and business development THE EMISSIONS WORK The core of the role: - Alberta methane compliance under AER Directive 060: vent gas limits, fugitive emissions management programs (FEMP), pneumatic device requirements, and annual methane reporting - TIER: facility benchmarking, compliance planning, annual compliance reporting, and cost strategy across compliance options - Offset development: protocol selection, project development, quantification, and navigating projects through validation and verification - MSAPR: engine registration, performance testing programs, and ongoing compliance management under the federal air pollutant regulations - Saskatchewan and BC emissions compliance: methane and emissions requirements under each province's framework, and advising clients on how obligations differ across the jurisdictions they operate in - Emissions inventories and reporting: NPRI, GHGRP, and provincial reporting, built on defensible quantification methods - Benzene management under Directive 039: dehydrator benzene inventories and control strategy - ESG and voluntary reporting: supporting clients whose emissions data feeds corporate ESG disclosures, where quantification rigor and consistency matter as much as regulatory compliance - Regulatory strategy: tracking regulatory change, assessing client impact, and turning new requirements into clear compliance plans BEYOND EMISSIONS Because of how we're built, your work connects directly to our field services and software teams. You'll have measurement, SCADA, and field verification capability behind your analyses, and you'll help shape the emissions modules of our own compliance platform. Depth in measurement, EPAP, or production accounting is an asset but not required. WHAT YOU BRING - Significant experience in oil and gas emissions compliance, on the consulting, producer, or regulator side - Deep working knowledge of Directive 060 and TIER, with real delivery experience in at least two of: offset development, MSAPR, FEMP, NPRI/GHGRP - Working familiarity with emissions requirements in more than one of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and BC - The ability to run client work independently: scoping, delivery, budget, and relationship - Strong quantification and analytical skills, and the judgment to know when a number will survive scrutiny - Clear written and verbal communication, comfortable presenting to client leadership and corresponding with regulators - Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior staff NICE TO HAVE - Offset project experience through full validation and verification cycles - Experience with ISO 14064 GHG quantification and verification, on either the preparation or verification side - Familiarity with ISO 14001 environmental management systems - Experience supporting ESG reporting and disclosure programs - Experience with ECCC reporting systems and federal submission processes - A relevant designation (P.Eng., C.E.T., or similar) - Business development experience in a consulting environment LOCATION Hybrid role based in Calgary with some time in the field. We're open to strong candidates outside Calgary who bring the right emissions depth, so if that's you, apply and tell us where you're based. Interested? Apply here or reach out directly. We review applications as they come in.
