Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller (Controller Track) Pay: CA$95,000.00 - CA$120,000.00 per year Job Description: About the Role We’re seeking a technically strong and curious Senior Accountant with solid experience in financial statement preparation and consolidation, who is ready to grow into a Controller-level leadership position over time. Using our current tools, this role takes the lead in creating efficiency and controls across a large group of companies. It offers real ownership from day one and a clear path toward leading our finance function. Key Responsibilities Own full-cycle accounting: AR, AP, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and consolidations, with variance analysis Answer CRA inquiries and prepare audit response documentation Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning Collaborate with payroll, billing, and operations for finance alignment Review and implement internal controls and procedures, and lead year-end audit processes Use advanced Excel and work with AI tools to automate and report efficiently Gradually assume Assistant Controller responsibilities and partner directly with senior leadership Participate in modernizing accounting systems and processes Who You Are CPA designation Minimum 5 years of progressive Canadian accounting experience Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of AI tools to create efficiencies Experience with multi-entity consolidations and full financial statement preparation Proactive, curious, and committed to learning and growth Skilled communicator who works well across teams Comfortable working under pressure and taking initiative Why This Role Matters This is a clear successor role within a finance team in transition.
