COMPETITION: 202656 SCHEDULE: Full-time (75 hours bi-weekly) COMPETITION CLOSE DATE: Open Until Filled ABOUT INUVIALUIT REGIONAL CORPORATION (IRC) Established in 1984 to manage the settlement outlined in the Inuvialuit Final Agreement (IFA), Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) represents the collective interests of Inuvialuit. IRC’s goal is to continually improve the economic, social and cultural wellbeing of the Inuvialuit through implementation of the IFA and by all other available means. Through strong partnerships and community‑driven programs, the organization supports economic growth, cultural preservation and opportunities for current and future generations. Inuvialuit beneficiaries directly control IRC and its subsidiaries through a democratic process of elected directors from each of the six community corporations with chairs at the IRC Board, a process originally outlined in the IFA. DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW The Finance & Accounting division within the Inuvialuit Corporate Group (ICG) plays a vital role in driving financial excellence by providing comprehensive financial services. They oversee treasury management, internal controls, financial reporting, tax planning, payroll, and corporate travel. The division ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, implements robust internal controls, manages cash flow, and optimizes tax assets. Additionally, the Finance & Accounting division offers expert advice and services on budgets, financial management, accounting, reporting, policy development, process optimization, expense management, and administrative procedures, contributing to the overall success of the organization. JOB OVERVIEW The Intermediate Accountant reports to the Controller and supports multiple entities across the Inuvialuit Corporate Group. This role is responsible for completing month-end accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting support. The Intermediate Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing ad hoc reporting and project support as required. The position requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple entities. Success in this role requires collaboration, commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to provide timely and reliable financial information to support decision-making. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must be/have: 2 or more years of related experience. CPA designation or actively working toward it. Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent. Knowledge of accounting procedures (IFRS and ASPE). Preference may be given to candidates with the following: Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics ERP or Business Central is an asset. Experience in Indigenous organizations or organizations with similar complexities. Experience working in the North. Please refer to the job description for a full list of duties and qualifications.
