Job Description Position Overview As an Assistant General Counsel, Commercial you will be focused on energy and infrastructure project development and construction. You will provide professional legal advice, counsel, and guidance to support the development, construction, financing and operation of Invenergy’s growing renewable and clean energy portfolio. Responsibilities * Provide legal support to Invenergy’s project development, engineering, project management, pre-construction and global sourcing teams on a wide variety of construction and procurement agreements, including balance of plant agreements, balance of system of agreements, EPC contracts, engineering and design services agreements, wind turbine supply agreements, solar module supply agreements and procurement agreements for other types of renewable energy equipment. * Familiarity with project finance considerations in project contracts a plus. * As needed, select and manage sophisticated outside counsel. * Ensure consistency across transactions and compliance with internal policies. * Additionally review general commercial contracts for the company * The position will also provide legal advice and support in other areas of the company as needed and able. * The position will require overtime and travel at times. Minimum Qualifications * JD degree * 5-7 years of experience either within a law firm or as in-house counsel supporting utility scale renewable energy-related project development and construction. * Experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on sophisticated energy related project development and construction agreements * Experience researching and analyzing applicable laws and regulations across a variety of jurisdictions. * Able to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders under minimal supervision. * Excellent communication skills and ability to relay complex concepts to members of management * Able to work under minimal supervision * Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future Base Pay $180,000.00 - $216,000.00 USD Annual Bonus: 25% - 40% The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills. In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package may also include eligibility to participate in our bonus program(s) which are designed to reward individual and company performance.
