LEED Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Review and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical design drawings Perform take-off calculations for all building elements and parameters required for energy modelling results Develop proposed and referenced case energy models as per modelling procedures and rules from applicable reference guidelines, standards, and codes Evaluate and analyze various building energy measures by performing iterative modelling Provide design recommendations to improve energy efficiency of building Preparation of modelling documentation and submittals as required by the project Prepare detailed responses to energy model reviews and audits from various modelling authorities (i.e. CaGBC, municipalities, etc.) Perform detailed building energy modelling using applicable software (i.e. eQuest, EE4, etc.) Conducting Energy Audits; from walkthrough to final reporting Analyze utility and meter data to conduct M & V studies and utility analysis Carbon Tracking and reporting Sustainable design of prototype buildings for clients Review designs for adherence to LEED credits Managing and preparing documentation pertaining to LEED and other green building rating and certification systems Advising clients and Architects on the implementation of green building strategies Guiding clients’ LEED projects by selecting credits which optimize the sustainability of their building Completing whole-building Life Cycle Assessments Qualifications and Requirements: Degree or Certificate in sustainable energy, or a related field 3+ years of experience in the sustainable energy industry Understanding of sustainability concepts and their practical applications An understanding of the LEED program (v2009 and v4) and associated rating systems under the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) and US Green Building Council (USGBC) Experience with Net Zero buildings and/or CaGBC Zero Carbon Buildings, is an asset Experience with HVAC and plumbing design, Energy Modelling, and energy auditing, is an asset Strong knowledge of Athena Impact Estimator for Buildings, or equivalent LCA software, is an asset LEED Accredited Professional is an asset Experience in measurement & verification is an asset Position Details: Type: Full-time, On Site Location: Scarborough, Ontario Purpose: Existing Vacancy Eligibility: Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada Compensation Range: $70,000 - $90,000 How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their application for consideration. The LEED Coordinator will review and interpret design drawings, perform energy modelling, and provide design recommendations to improve energy efficiency. They will also manage documentation related to LEED and other green building certification systems.

Candidates should have a degree or certificate in sustainable energy or a related field, along with 3+ years of experience in the sustainable energy industry. An understanding of the LEED program and experience with energy modelling and auditing are also important.
