As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will be accountable for developing and implementing strategies and leading sourcing initiatives in support of Irving Oil’s Refinery Operations Procurement. Your goal will be to procure goods and services efficiently and effectively, and manage supplier contracts, relationships, and performance. Your success will be demonstrated in your ability to support procurement activities for multiple stakeholders, understand and align to strategies, priorities and plans, and collaborate to timely deliver on commitments. What We Offer: * Work Environment – Work and grow within Canada’s largest Refinery, with strong safety culture, access to a fitness facility, an onsite medical team, and a café * Competitive Compensation – Including an annual bonus plan, and pension plan * Flexible Benefits Plan – In effect from day one and offers three levels of coverage to select from to meet your unique, personal needs * Paid Vacation – Plus an annual option to purchase additional vacation, too * Wellness Support – With 24/7 access to our Employee & Family Assistance Program * Opportunity to give back to some amazing causes in our community – Choose when and where to make an impact with a paid volunteer day, company volunteer opportunities, and a donation matching program Your Responsibilities: * Support day-to-day procurement activities by working closely with internal / external stakeholders on the development of sourcing strategies for goods and services required * Support identifying and implementing negotiating, savings, and related sourcing strategies * Understand demand patterns to influence efficiencies through standardization * Draft contractual agreements and support negotiations of GSA’s, MSA’s, and other agreements * Field level management of contracts and supplier relationships * Identify external and internal stakeholders and engage them in all activities * Support supplier consolidation activities * Support Internal Total Cost of Ownership reduction initiatives * Analyze price behaviour and forecast prices * Effectively manage procurement cycles to align with project schedules * Mentor other contract specialists Your Skills: * Effective communication skills (oral and written) for clearly conveying information to stakeholders across varying levels of organization * Ability to develop strategic visions and create plans for implementation * Strong ability to work as part of a team and individually, network, and build relationships * Ability to manage and adapt to sudden changes in workflow, priorities, and tasks * Strong negotiation, influencing, and persuasion skills * Strong analytical, problem solving, and cost modeling skills * Understanding of legal concepts related to contracts, including legal terminology and how to draft, review, and interpret contract terms and conditions would be an asset * Ability to evaluate and mitigate commercial risks * Advanced organizational skills and instincts with a practical sense of how to get things done Your Experience: * Post-secondary education in business, engineering, supply chain, logistics or equivalent experience * 5-10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management within the energy or oil and gas sector in positions with increasing accountability and responsibility * Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation an asset The expected salary range for this position is $78,048 - $105,365.
