Accounting Manager

Permanent Job title: Accounting Manager Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 Role status: Current opening We're hiring on behalf of our client: A highly successful and growing real estate development organization with diversified operations across real estate, construction, and hospitality. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative finance team where you'll have the opportunity to lead, influence process improvements, and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the business. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you'll oversee accounting operations across multiple entities while providing financial insight to support strategic decision making. Principal tasks and responsibilities include: Lead the day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities. Support the Financial Controller and Director of Finance with complex accounting and financial initiatives. Manage, mentor, and develop members of the Accounting team. Ensure accurate and timely month end, quarter end, and year end reporting. Monitor financial reporting deadlines and ensure deliverables are completed on time. Review financial results and provide meaningful analysis to support business decisions. Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and internal controls. Assist with implementing new accounting procedures and operational efficiencies. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting requirements. Partner with leaders across the business to respond to financial inquiries and provide accounting guidance. Train and support team members on accounting processes and non-routine transactions. Qualifications and pre-requisites: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. CPA designation or actively pursuing a CPA is considered an asset. Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Previous leadership or supervisory experience. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and IF statements. Experience working with ERP and accounting systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Experience within real estate, construction, or hospitality is considered an asset but is not required. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
