Our client is looking for someone with strong SQL and analytical ability, polished communication skills, and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business to turn data into meaningful insights. The successful candidate will support reporting, business analysis, and performance tracking while learning directly from senior leaders and gaining exposure to key strategic initiatives across the organization. Principal tasks and responsibilities include: Write SQL queries to extract, organize, and analyze business and operational data. Support recurring and ad hoc reporting across revenue, pricing, productivity, profitability, and other key business performance metrics. Analyze trends, variances, and performance drivers, and help identify meaningful insights for the business. Assist in preparing reporting packages, dashboards, scorecards, and presentations for leadership and business stakeholders. Translate data into clear, concise summaries and business-friendly insights for both technical and non-technical audiences. Work with stakeholders across finance, operations, and the broader business to understand reporting needs and support decision-making through data. Validate data accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and help improve reporting quality and consistency. Assist in building and maintaining dashboards, management reporting tools, and automated reporting solutions. Support business performance reviews, strategic analysis, and special projects through data gathering and analysis. Contribute to process improvements, reporting automation, and business intelligence initiatives. Present findings and observations clearly and professionally to internal stakeholders. Take ownership of assigned analysis and reporting deliverables while continuing to develop technical and business skills. Qualifications and pre-requisites: Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field. Strong academic background preferred. Candidates from Western, Queen's, Laurier, Waterloo, McMaster, University of Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan, or other strong Ontario / GTA schools would be of particular interest. 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, business analytics, finance analytics, or a similar analytical role. Strong new grads with relevant internships, co-ops, or case-based experience may also be considered. SQL experience is required. Candidates should be comfortable writing queries, pulling data, validating outputs, and using data to answer business questions. Strong analytical ability with the capacity to work with large datasets and turn findings into practical business insights. Experience with Excel and reporting / visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms would be an asset. Excellent communication skills are a must. This role requires someone who can explain analysis clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and communicate comfortably with stakeholders across the business. Strong presentation skills and confidence communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences. We would be particularly interested in candidates who have developed strong communication skills through debate teams, case competitions, Toastmasters, student leadership, client-facing work, or similar experiences. High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine interest in understanding the story behind the data. Strong problem-solving skills, good business judgment, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
