Why Join Italian Centre Shop? * Learn valuable pastry and baking skills from experienced professionals * Work with a wide variety of products including cakes, cookies, pies, tarts, danishes, and specialty desserts * Opportunities for growth and advancement within the bakery * Free lunch on most shifts * Yearly bonus * Comprehensive health benefits for full-time employees * On-site parking * Be part of a company whose mission is to Connect Community Through Food and Cultural Experience What You'll Be Doing As a Pastry Assistant, you'll gain hands-on experience in all aspects of bakery production, including: * Preparing cakes, cookies, pies, danishes, tarts, and other baked goods * Measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients according to recipes * Learning dough handling techniques including rolling, kneading, shaping, and cutting * Preparing fillings, icings, glazes, ganaches, and other specialty components * Baking products and monitoring quality throughout the process * Decorating and finishing pastries and desserts * Stocking and maintaining attractive bakery displays * Assisting customers with product recommendations and questions * Following food safety and sanitation standards * Helping maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bakery environment * Learning inventory, production, and waste-control practices * Contributing ideas and creativity to our bakery team No two days are the same. Ideal candidates may have: * Previous bakery or food production experience * Enrollment in, or completion of, the first year of a Baking Apprenticeship Program * A High School Diploma or GED (preferred) * A desire to build a long-term career in the baking or pastry industry Schedule * Full-Time Position * Typical shift: 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. * Open availability preferred * Early mornings, weekends, and statutory holidays required Physical Requirements This is a hands-on role that requires: * Standing and walking for extended periods * Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly * Frequent bending, twisting, and reaching * Working around ovens, mixers, flour, and baking ingredients * Occasional work in coolers and freezers Ready to Turn Your Passion for Baking Into a Career?
