Held has a great opportunity for the right candidate to join our Forensic Engineering/Accident Reconstruction Group Internship program in our Halifax, NS office. Our firm provides expert consultation to both plaintiff and defense lawyers, as well as insurance companies. Our services encompass vehicle accident investigation and reconstruction, suspected fraudulent claim assessments, vehicle fire origin and cause investigation, and biomechanics analysis. *This is a 6-month contract with the intention to convert into a permanent role on the team.* Job Responsibilities: Conduct thorough document summaries and draft comprehensive technical reports based on lead engineer's instructions, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Perform in-depth research on specific topics related to ongoing investigations. Execute complex data analysis and calculations with precision. Preserve and document physical evidence by taking accurate measurements, photographs, and detailed notes. Perform vehicle and scene examinations including black box and infotainment data acquisitions. Conduct computer simulations. Travel for meetings and field work. Qualifications Required Qualifications: B.Sc. and/or M.Sc. in Engineering or Physics. Automotive Engineering experience preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience in producing technical reports is highly advantageous. Knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems is an asset. Demonstrated hands-on experience is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is mandatory. Valid Class 5 license (or equivalent), reliable access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel within Canada. Commitment to continuous learning and long-term growth. Physical and Mental Job Qualifications: Willing to work outdoors during harsh weather conditions.
