JOURNEYMAN WELDER- BROOKS, ALBERTA JOURNEYMAN WELDER JOB IS LOCATED IN BROOKS, ALBERTA With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada's largest beef processors. Consisting of four locations—the main processing facility located in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily; the Head Office and a case ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario, a case ready plant located in Belleville, Ontario. The JBS Canada facility in Brooks has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primal, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide. At the multi-protein Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary, JBS Canada produces value-added products including marinated, portion sized, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more. As a member of the team you will be responsible for a variety of duties including: Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW) Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment Operate brazing and soldering equipment Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers. Requirements Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training 5 years of work experience in the trade (including apprenticeship time) Alberta Journeyperson Welder and/or Red Seal certificate required Work Site Environment: Noisy, Odors, Hot, Cold/refrigerated. Earn Competitive Wage: from $43.55 to $44.80 Permanent Full Time Employment Please note that Applicants may be subject to drug and alcohol testing.
