LOGISTICS MANAGER –JBS FOOD CANADA ULC With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada's largest beef processors. Consisting of four locations—the main processing facility located in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily; the Head Office and a case ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario, a case ready plant located in Belleville, Ontario. The JBS Canada facility in Brooks has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide. At the multi-protein Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary, JBS Canada produces value-added products including marinated, portion sized, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more. JBS Ontario in Belleville produces fresh meat and seafood products for leading retailers in Canada. We are currently seeking a Logistics Manager to lead the logistics and transportation requirements for all JBS Canada products. You will coordinate with vendors to manage logistics activities to meet service level expectations. This role will work closely with JBS’s freight providers and internal teams to maintain a reliable and scalable logistics operation that functions on an international scale. With an understanding of North American transportation and trade compliance, you will make sure that JBS can provide a predictable delivery experience for all shipments. This role will also serve as the trade compliance subject matter expert, providing support related to all logistics activities ensuring JBS’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices. Position Responsibilities Lead the organization’s Performance Improvement plan and Operational Efficiency initiatives; ensuring a data-driven and results oriented approach that supports successful execution of company strategic objectives. Provide leadership for direct reports that both maximize and optimize resources in support of the company’s goals and objectives in serving customers. Ensure that performance goals are set and achieved, through the proper execution of performance metrics as it relates to Productivity, Safety, Quality and Customer Service. Oversee the development and management of carrier contracts, negotiations and relationships to provide industry leading competitive rates, programs and exceptional customer service. Resolve internal problems or complaints and problems or complaints with carriers/customers Plan, examine, analyze and evaluate day-to-day operations in respect to supporting procedures, quality standards, and customer expectations. Ensure quality shipment data from origin to end-delivery. Develop and oversee, JBS policies, systems and procedures necessary to support cost reduction and system utilization goals (KPI’s). Develop and maintain KPI’s for quality, quantity, shipments, inventory, delivery times, transportation costs and efficiency Manage expense to budget and forecast. Participate in and support business reviews with service providers; drive corrective actions, if necessary, based on performance. Review and research with new and existing transportation vendors; programs to reduce, replace and improve upon transportation costs. Position Requirements A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or another related field preferred 8 plus years of experience in Logistics; at least 5 years of team leadership experience Experience with perishable goods Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system preferred A proven track record in developing new processes and bringing about change and improvement without major disruption to the business Strong people management and supervisory skills Strong analytical skills with high proficiency in Excel; ability to tell a compelling story through data Process driven mentality, with the ability to plan, be strategic, and execute operationally on a regular basis Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to distill large amounts of information into concise summaries FULL TIME PERMANENT POSITION Please note that Applicants may be subject to drug and alcohol testing.
