HEAVY DUTY EQUIPMENT JOURNEYPERSON Edmonton, AB About the Role: We are seeking a motivated Heavy Duty Equipment Journeyperson to join our team in Edmonton. In this hands-on role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of a diverse fleet of specialized municipal and public works equipment. You will perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of heavy-duty vehicles while working alongside a collaborative team that supports continuous learning, professional development, and career growth. What You’ll Do: * Perform inspections, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of heavy-duty and specialized municipal equipment. * Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. * Repair and maintain vacuum trucks, hydro-vac units, street sweepers, refuse and recycling trucks, sewer inspection equipment, and other specialty vehicles. * Complete work orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining service documentation. * Collaborate with the Service Writer, Parts Department, and fellow technicians to maximize equipment uptime and customer satisfaction. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company and regulatory safety standards. Total Rewards: * $2,500 Signing Bonus for fully licensed Journeypersons (subject to terms and conditions) * Quarterly Profit-Sharing Bonus Program (up to $1,500) * Technician and Manufacturer Training Bonuses (up to $3,000) * Annual Wage Reviews and Increases * 100% Employer-Paid Extended Health Benefits * Vacation Entitlement plus Paid Personal Days * Tool Allowance * Safety Footwear and Eyewear Allowance * Employer-Matching Retirement Savings Program Position Details: Location: Edmonton, Alberta Status: Permanent, Full-Time Compensation Type: Hourly (overtime paid in accordance with applicable employment legislation) Schedule: Monday to Friday; occasional extended hours may be required based on operational needs Travel: 0–2% Vacancy Type: Existing Position What You Bring: * Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Journeyperson certification (required). * Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferred. * Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. * Welding ability a strong asset * Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driver's abstract. * Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. * Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship. * Positive attitude and team-oriented approach. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: * Shop, yard, warehouse settings. * Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and components. * Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods. * Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. * Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
