Résumé du poste

About Jim Peplinski Capital Jim Peplinski Capital (JPC) has been financing vehicles and equipment for Canadian businesses for more than 35 years. We are growing, and we are looking for a Credit Manager who likes to make decisions, solve problems and get things done. Credit is a big part of how we compete. We want to make strong credit decisions quickly, find a way to say yes when the deal makes sense, and know when to say no. The Role You will be JPC’s primary credit decision maker. You’ll manage a growing portfolio, lead a small credit team and work closely with Sales, Finance, Operations and Technology. This is not a role where you’ll spend your time building presentations and handing work off to someone else. You’ll be in the files, making decisions, talking to Sales, working through difficult credits, managing problem accounts and improving how we do things. What You’ll Do Review and approve commercial and individual credit applications. Analyze financial statements, cash flow, collateral and deal structure and make clear, timely decisions. Work with Sales to find practical solutions and structure deals that work for both JPC and the customer. Develop pricing and terms that reflect the risk in each deal. Set and improve credit policies, underwriting standards and approval guidelines. Monitor the portfolio and stay on top of delinquencies, losses, concentrations and emerging problems. Get involved when accounts go sideways – collections, workouts, repossessions, insurance claims and recoveries. Review credit lines and make sure security, PPSA, AML/FINTRAC and other requirements are properly maintained. Help build better systems and processes, including automated credit decisioning. Report on portfolio performance and flag problems before they become bigger problems. Lead and coach a team of three credit professionals. What We’re Looking For You have 6–10 years of experience in credit risk, underwriting or portfolio management within consumer and business lending. You come from fleet management, automotive finance, equipment finance, or specialty lending. Bank or boutique - we care about the asset class, not the logo. More importantly, you: Know how to read financial statements and understand the story behind the numbers. Are comfortable making a decision with incomplete information. Can balance risk with the commercial reality of getting deals done. Don’t avoid difficult conversations with customers or internal teams. Understand collections, workouts, collateral and lien management. Are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and fixing a process when it isn’t working. Can lead a small team without needing layers of management around you. Have good judgment, communicate clearly and take ownership. Have a post-secondary education in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field. Have experience with AML/FINTRAC obligations in a lending context. Why JPC? You’ll have the opportunity to build and shape the credit function, rather than simply maintain an existing one. You’ll have real decision-making authority, access to senior leadership and a direct impact on the growth and performance of the business. Competitive compensation, performance bonus, and comprehensive health and dental benefits from day one. ***Please take 5 minutes to complete this survey, your application will not be considered without it: https://secure.personex.com/profile/default.aspx?LANG=ENG&ClientID=b2179a9d-1a2f-11ec-ae9c-165fb6ab0828&uc=LXFFB3PG&QVersion=1
