JMC is pleased to partner with Steel Plus Network (SPN) for an Executive Director to lead and support a growing network of independent steel fabricators and supplier partners across North America. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys balancing strategy, relationships, financial oversight, and day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Board of Managers, you will serve as the organization's senior leader, responsible for ensuring that SPN continues to deliver value to its members while supporting the network's long-term growth and sustainability. As a small organization with a dedicated team of two employees, this role requires someone who is equally comfortable discussing strategy with the Board, building relationships with members and suppliers, reviewing financial reports, coordinating major events, and managing the administrative functions that keep the organization running smoothly. This successful candidate is ideally based in Eastern Canada. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Governance Work closely with the Board of Managers to advance SPN's strategic priorities and organizational goals. Prepare Board and committee meeting materials, agendas, and minutes. Provide guidance on governance, operational matters, and future growth opportunities. Financial & Administrative Oversight Oversee budgeting, cash flow, investments, financial reporting, invoicing, and banking relationships. Coordinate with external accounting and professional service partners. Ensure accurate records, compliance requirements, and organizational documentation are maintained. Member & Supplier Relations Build strong relationships with members, suppliers, and industry stakeholders across North America. Support membership growth and engagement initiatives. Lead supplier program reviews, negotiations, and ongoing partnership management. Communications, Events & Operations Oversee member communications, marketing initiatives, website content, and digital presence. Support the planning and execution of meetings, regional events, and the Annual General Meeting. Lead the day-to-day operations of the organization and support a collaborative, service-focused culture. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a relationship-focused leader who thrives in a small organization and enjoys being actively involved in both strategic and operational work. You bring: Senior leadership, business management, or association management experience. Strong financial and business acumen. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Experience working with Boards, committees, or governance structures. The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail. A willingness to travel periodically throughout North America. Compensation: 120k - 140k Why Join SPN?
