Senior / Corporate Accountant
McKeil Marine is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior/Corporate Accountant to join our finance team on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will assist in financial reporting, analysis, and general accounting tasks, offering an exciting opportunity for growth and professional development within our dynamic and fast-paced marine transportation company.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with managing the general accounting functions
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP (ASPE) and company policies.
- Assist in forecasting and variance analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and support as required.
- Assist with daily treasury and cash flow forecasting.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as assigned by management.
- Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as assigned by management
- Ensure adherence to month-end and year-end timelines and contribute to improving the efficiency and accuracy of close processes
Minimum Qualification, Skills and Key Competencies Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Business Central or other ERP systems
- Exceptional analytical skills, problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently
- A practical hands-on approach to a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- CPA certification is a plus.
