About the role

Are you passionate about driving operational efficiency and process improvement?

We are looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer - Supply Chain, who will play a critical leadership role within Best Buy Canada’s supply chain operations engineering team. You will provide end‑to‑end engineering support for our Brampton distribution centre, owning facility optimization, process improvement, and strategic engineering initiatives that translate network strategy into floor‑level execution.

In this role, you will work onsite at our Brampton, ON distribution centre and act as a key engineering partner to DC operations, supply chain planning, IT, and external vendors.

What you’ll do:

Engineering Leadership & Strategy

  • Own the DC layout optimization and capacity planning (short‑ and long‑term), analyzing current and forecasted volumes to determine utilization rates and recommend footprint adjustments.
  • Serve as the engineering partner for major strategic initiatives, translating high‑level network or system design (e.g., WMS, ASRS, automation) into executable floor‑level solutions.
  • Lead projects related to facility layout and design, relocations, new process integration, technology deployment, and labor modeling.

Continuous Improvement & Lean Execution

  • Lead and manage Kaizen and CI initiatives (5S, value stream mapping, A3 problem solving, DMAIC)
  • Initiate and execute continuous improvement projects focused on waste reduction, throughput improvement, and cost efficiency.
  • Drive a lean thinking mindset across the DC through training, project results, and recognition of improvements.
  • Support reliability engineering programs, including preventive maintenance strategies where applicable.

Data, Analytics & Performance Management

  • Lead the development and management of key operational KPIs, dashboards, and performance insights.
  • Apply data analytics, BI tools, and statistical methods to support decision‑making and business cases.
  • Contribute to the evolution toward real‑time operations monitoring and improved visibility.

People Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of analysts and/or engineers, setting clear priorities, developing standard work, and scaling best practices.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and engineering standards.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3-5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, logistics or distribution field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Prior experience in data analytics, business intelligence (Tableau, Power BI), and statistics.
  • Green belt or black belt certification in lean six sigma methodologies are preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, simulation application, lean principles, automation solutions, reliability engineering programs (preventive maintenance) is a nice to have.

Annualized Compensation Range

$80,000.00 - $95,000.00
