Your impact

When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We’re looking for an early career Environmental Engineer for Jacobs’ Toronto office to work on site characterization and remediation projects for government and private-sector clients. You’ll gain valuable field experience with environmental sampling techniques and subcontractor oversight. You’ll balance your field work with some time spent in the office working on data interpretation and visualization, quantitative modeling, report writing and coordinating field work.

You’ll have the opportunity to help create a more sustainable world by ensuring environmental compliance, environmental management, and health and safety while working on diverse projects. In this role, you’ll work with experienced engineers, geoscientists, and project managers who will help you start your environmental consulting career at a place like no other, a company that is invested in you and the environment around us.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering), Geology, or Environmental Science.
  • 0-2 years of experience within environmental consulting or related field.
  • Willing and able to travel for short to medium term assignments (within Canada) with overnight travel and flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • Able to travel and participate in remote project site work, and the ability to adapt to unexpected or inclement field conditions and changing schedules.
  • Legal right to work in Canada and a valid Class G Driver’s License
  • Must be local to Toronto

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with field methods for site characterization like soil logging, sampling soil, water, or soil vapor, and monitoring well installation.
  • Experience working on project sites and overseeing subcontractors.

86,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $86,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
