We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Product Design Engineer to join our growing product development team. This role is a cornerstone in advancing our portfolio of cutting-edge aluminum building products, from concept through to production.
You will collaborate closely with our operations, engineering, and manufacturing teams to develop new products, enhance existing systems, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This is a hands-on, technically demanding position suited for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, design-driven environment where innovation and precision intersect.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new aluminum extrusion-based products, components, and systems.
- Create detailed models and technical drawings using advanced CAD software.
- Coordinate prototype development and testing, ensuring results meet structural, performance, and aesthetic requirements.
- Collaborate with certification authorities to secure and maintain relevant product approvals and compliance.
- Analyze prototype and testing data, implement design refinements, and retest as needed.
- Research and assess new design concepts, materials, and technologies to support continuous innovation.
- Incorporate feedback from third-party engineering analyses and testing reports.
- Enhance existing product designs to improve manufacturability, performance, and sustainability.
- Ensure designs meet safety, environmental, and building code standards.
- Maintain precise documentation of design revisions, specifications, and testing results.
- Prepare and present design concepts and prototypes to internal teams, management, and customers.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, supply chain, and marketing to ensure successful product launches.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (required).
- 5–7 years of experience as a Design Engineer or in a similar engineering role.
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Proven experience with aluminum extrusions and related fabrication processes (required or strongly preferred).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and environmental design considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple design projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, spatial reasoning, and creative problem-solving.
