About the role

Industrial Custodian/Housekeeping Location: 8470 Keele St (Keele & Langstaff) Job Type: 1 Month Contract Pay Rate: From $19.00 per hour and up based upon qualifications and experience Schedule: Day shift 10:00 am to 6:30 pm Monday to Friday We are Public Transit accessible! CMI is located at Keele and Langstaff in Concord. A 20-minute bus ride from TTC Pioneer Village Subway Station in North York and a 10-15-minute bus ride from Rutherford GO Station in Vaughan.

Here’s where you come in… As CMI continues to grow, we are looking for a Industrial Custodian to help us maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. We are looking for individuals who matches our commitment to professionalism, customer service, and strive for excellence.

Job Summary You will be providing the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation in our outdoor plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sweep and shovel materials in the yard to keep it safe & clean
  • Support organization and general housekeeping
  • Sort and process material into respective bins for processing
  • Assist in material processing as needed
  • Inspect and clear drain basins on a prescribed schedule
  • Support lunchroom/locker housekeeping staff while on absences/vacations
  • Assist in identification & proper cleaning of any spills
  • Ensure drive lanes are clear of debris
  • Gather and empty garbage, cardboard, wood bins
  • Perform special cleaning projects on equipment
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies need for cleaning and maintenance duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school graduate is an asset
  • Ability to perform physical work - lift up to 50lbs
  • Previous experience in an industrial environment
  • 2 – 3 years of previous industrial cleaning experience
  • Good english communications skills
  • Ability to work well with co-workers and independently
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions both oral and written
  • Understanding of cleaning chemicals
  • Strong attention to detail
