About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Compensation & Benefits, you’ll support the day-to-day administration of our benefits and pension/retirement programs. You’ll partner closely with Payroll, HR and external vendors, build end-to-end exposure across both program areas, and contribute to continuous improvements in processes, communications and system configuration.

You will contribute by :

Support the Benefits & Pension function across plan administration, HRIS configuration, employee inquiry resolution, vendor coordination and employee communications.

  • Administer group benefits (e.g., health & dental, disability, life insurance) and retirement programs (e.g., pension – DC & DB, and Group RRSP and ESPP), including enrollments, changes and terminations.
  • Support pension/retirement administration activities such as new member set-up, required member communications, data validation, and processing events like terminations and retirements in partnership with the Pension Specialist and vendors.
  • Run eligibility and enrollment audits (including part-time hours analysis) and prepare regular reports to ensure both benefits and pension/retirement programs are administered in line with plan rules.
  • Support the Benefits Specialist and Pension Specialist with program rollouts, annual activities and project work (including testing and HRIS configuration changes).
  • Monitor the Total Rewards central inbox and respond to employee questions about benefits and retirement programs with professionalism and discretion, escalating complex cases as needed.
  • Coordinate recurring vendor and Payroll data exchanges (files, corrections, reconciliations) to support accurate benefits processing and pension/retirement contributions, including union/collective agreement provisions where applicable.
  • Maintain and improve benefits and pension administrative procedures, job aids and checklists; perform audits to identify gaps and recommend fixes.
  • Support HRIS administration for Benefits & Pension (Dayforce), including configuration maintenance, issue triage, and user acceptance testing.
  • Prepares and distributes employee correspondence, individual emails and mail merge communications
  • Maintains Total Rewards content on the Corus Central intranet ensuring program and process information is easy to find, easy to understand and enables self-service
  • Oversee employee discount program including sourcing, implementing, and communicating programs
  • Develop relationships with vendors, attend program management meetings and support the team with agreed upon initiatives and next steps

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • 1–2 years of experience supporting group benefits and pension/retirement administration Genuine interest in building depth across both benefits and pension/retirement programs.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate information professionally

  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills

  • Attention to detail and auditing skills utilizing Excel formulas

  • Sound capabilities using Word, PowerPoint and HR/payroll systems

  • Well-developed prioritization, time management and multi-tasking skills

  • Collaborative working and willingness to go the extra mile
