Wesdome is a Canadian-focused gold producer with two high-grade underground assets, the Eagle River mine in Ontario and the Kiena mine in Québec. The Eagle River Mine site has a tight-knit team where everyone knows each other and there is a strong sense of camaraderie and mutual support. It is a hands-on, fast paced environment where work feels impactful and you can see the results of your contributions quickly. There are many long-tenured employees and a lot of site pride.
The mine is located a short drive from Wawa, deep in the forest where it is scenic and quiet. It is a real ‘boots on the ground’ setting. Team members reside in a camp environment and typically work on rotations, depending on the position. The camp offers excellent food, a sauna/gym, recreational room and the opportunity to stay connected with family and friends.

About the Opportunity
Responsible for preparing all site-wide accounting journal entries, ensuring entries are complete, accurate, and supported by appropriate documentation, and aligned with company policies and reporting timelines. As an integral member of the site financial reporting team, this role supports the timely and accurate completion of month-end close and contributes to overall financial reporting processes and analysis.

They possess strong communication skills (verbal, written, and listening) and collaborate effectively across departments. A team-oriented mindset and willingness to contribute as needed are essential to support site and organizational objectives.
Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job Duties

Assist with the generation and production of accurate and timely financial statements, reports and statistical information to various departments, mine management, and corporate office

Perform and maintain general ledger reconciliations on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness

Complete monthly journal entries and supporting schedules

Responsible for maintaining the fixed asset sub-ledger ensuring assets are correctly recorded

Work closely with Accounts Payable and Payroll to ensure expenses are recorded in an accurate and timely manner.

Participate in the yearly budgeting process as well as the periodic financial forecasts, in collaboration with the mine site departments and the corporate finance team.

Interact with department heads, corporate, and various government ministries

Assist with internal and external audits
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in Business or Accounting required
- Chartered Professional Accounting designation or willingness to pursue designation
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, concepts and financial systems
- Advanced computer skills with expertise in spreadsheets and Microsoft Office suite
- SAP experience would be an asset
