Please note***:***This opportunity does have the potential of leading to full-time employment once the successful candidate has successfully completed a probationary period. Initial contract is for 3 months.
Duties & Responsibilities
DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES**:**

Classroom instruction to apprentice, entry-level or Industry Services students.

Shop and laboratory instruction and supervision.
-
Administrative responsibilities, including assignments, examination marking, and student evaluation.

Curriculum maintenance and program enhancement.
-
Administrative processes required to ensure appropriate resources are in place to deliver training.
-
Other duties directly related to the instruction of trades and vocational programs.

Input into development of modifications to workshop and instructional areas.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS*:
- BC Trades Certificate of Qualification in Gasfitter Class A
- Five years’ current work experience as a ticketed Gas A journeyperson with industrial and commercial servicing and commissioning experience.
- One of the following BC Trades Certificate of Qualification would be an asset
- Inter-Provincial Red Seal endorsement in a piping discipline.
- Plumber
- Steamfitter/Pipefitter
- Sprinkler-fitter
- Gasfitter “Class B”
- Effective interpersonal skills and a strong desire to teach.
- Effective command of the English language – both written and oral.
- Experience working with apprentices in a supervisory role.
- Ability to work as part of a team and develop a collegial environment.
-Please note: These are the minimum required qualifications. This position is a dayshift position as defined in Article 14.1 of the Collective Agreement.
