The Opportunity

We are seeking a Pricing & Sales Coordinator – Agri Vertical to support the execution and continuous improvement of our Sea Freight Agricultural Team. In this role, you will provide sales support and customer service while acting as a liaison between internal teams and external customers.

In addition, you will manage customer rate inquiries and service requirements, resolve rate-related discrepancies, and update and maintain customer quotations and internal pricing systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide excellence in customer service and a first place of contact for client inquiries, concerns and complaints specializing in Sea Export Pricing.
  • Meet with, maintain, and assist management with strong rapport with customers and ocean carrier representatives.
  • Ensure business relationships and services levels are maintained with customers and vendors.
  • Participate in various customer/vendor appreciation events (including meetings, luncheons, etc.) to assist in the retention of current customer base and vendor partnership.
  • Assist with the negotiation of favorable pricing and other conditions (free times, validity period surcharges, handling fees credit terms, etc.) with shipping lines and/or Ocean colleagues.
  • Assist with providing volume forecasts, securing allocations with carriers, monitoring rate levels and space situation for the Canadian operation.
  • Assist with the development and defining of appropriate price guidelines and bid strategies, maintain and update all tariffs/customer quotations.
  • Ensure accurate filing system(s) are maintained.
  • Prepare various reports, Excel spreadsheets/matrix to analyze KWEC’s rates as they compare to competitors and marked activities. Audit reports as required.
  • Support Sales and Operations Team and assist with effective price reviews on large and/or new opportunities.
  • Keep updated on all trades and current market conditions.
  • Maintain product knowledge and regularly monitor industry-pricing practices, particularly for major competitors and distributors.
  • Assist the division/department manager in the effective maintenance of the companies ISO Policies.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Report all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
  • Provide back up support within department during busy periods, vacations and unexpected employee absences.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Model best practices and contribute to team development through the sharing of knowledge and expertise.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as required by management.

What You Bring

  • Formal Academic Training in related field of study from two-year college or technical school or 2 to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience – ideally in a similar position with a freight forwarder.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets/matrix to interpret data.
